As I prepare to head back to work following my maternity leave, I have been working hard to lose the weight I gained during my pregnancy. Unfortunately, blogging about food isn’t really conducive to dieting, so I’m going to plan to remain on hiatus until spring. (It’s true that a vegan diet tends to be healthier than the standard American diet, but overdoing it on beans and whole grains will still undercut a person’s weight loss efforts). When I return, I will finally post my review of Vegan Eats World, which I began working on before Christmas.
In the meantime, I thought I would share this fun article from the NY Times Dining section about cookbook “marginalia.” Like many cookbook lovers, my books are full of my own recipe notes — but nothing as interesting as some of the marginalia that this writer found in the collections of famous foodies.
